Happy Book Hooks Blog Hop Wednesday! Here's an excerpt from THE GIRL MOST LIKELY. Cara's 25th high school reunion is coming up and she wants to look good, especially since her ex-husband will be there. So, she gets help at the gym from personal trainer Finn Cooper. He thinks there's something special about Cara, and he doesn't care that she's nine years older than him. He's attracted to her physically and emotionally, especially to her sense of humor. I hope you enjoy the excerpt!

Excerpt:
It soon became obvious that he had his work cut out for him with Cara’s workouts, along with her attitude. She struggled with even the smallest free weights. Her upper body strength was nonexistent, and though he’d already witnessed how little endurance she possessed after the jumping jacks debacle, it was even worse than he’d thought.
Sweat rolled down her face as she peddled the stationary bike.
“Are…we…there…yet?” she panted.
“Just three more minutes. You can do it.”
“Are you sure about that?” She groaned. “My legs have turned to gelatin, my heart is going to jump out of my chest, and my lungs are about to explode. I haven’t got three more minutes!”
He was losing her. “Close your eyes, Cara.”
“What?”
“Just close your eyes. We’re doing a visualization exercise. Trust me.”
She shot him a skeptical glance before lowering her eyelids. “Now what?”
“Picture yourself arriving at your class reunion. Where’s it being held?”
“The ballroom at the Summerville Inn.”
“You arrive and all eyes are on you. You’re wearing a hot dress in an even hotter color, and you look fantastic. You feel great, too. You want to dance all night. You said you used to dance, right?”
“Right.” Her forehead wrinkled in concentration. She had beautifully shaped brows and a clear complexion, now flushed with exertion. “Is Peter there?”
“Peter?”
“My ex. Is he there with his little girlfriend?”
“Peter’s there, but not with the girlfriend. Her mommy won’t let her stay out past curfew.”
Cara laughed. The throaty chuckle tickled his libido. He had his own visualization of him pulling her off the bike and kissing her senseless.
“He takes you out onto the dance floor and tells you he was a fool for letting you get away.”
“You mean he was a fool for dumping me, don’t you?”
“Whatever. He’s sorry. But you tell him you’ve got a new life now, and it doesn’t include him.”
“I’m liking this visualization thing,” she wheezed. “Does he cry?”
“He does if you want him to.”
“I want him to cry for his mommy.”
“Then he’s bawling like a baby.”
She pumped one fist in the air. “Who-hoo!”
Finn smiled, enjoying her delight. She was certainly an attractive woman, but not the most beautiful client he’d ever had. Why did he feel such a pull toward her?

Blurb:
Cara McLeod, the girl most likely to have the perfect marriage, is now divorced and, in her own words, “fat, frumpy, and over forty.” The thought of facing former classmates—and the ex-husband who dumped her—at her high school reunion terrifies her. Cajoled into attending by her kids and her best friend, Cara enlists help at the gym to lose weight and look great for the reunion. Personal Trainer Finn Cooper is more than willing to help—but does he have to be so to-die-for gorgeous?
Finn thinks Cara is perfect just the way she is. She’s everything he wants in a woman, except for one thing—she can’t get past the fact that he's eight years younger. To Finn, age and weight are just numbers. But can he convince Cara the numbers she worries about add up to only one thing for him—love?
