#MFRWhooks Blog Hop - An Excerpt from I'LL BE SEEING YOU - It's Unbelievable

Happy Wednesday! Today I'm sharing an excerpt from I'LL BE SEEING YOU, my new second chance at love/time-travel romance. After being in a car accident, Gabriel Daniels finds himself a prisoner in a strange white room. A man named Thomas arrives and claims to be an angel. He tells Gabriel he's in a waiting room next door to Heaven. Though it seems crazy, Gabriel eventually begins to believe.

I'LL BE SEEING YOU is currently on pre-order on Amazon and will be released on March 1, 2026. It's book one in the Twice in a Lifetime time travel romance series.

Red roses and a pearl necklace on a dark background. Text reads "Book Hooks" and "Marketing for Romance Writers" in elegant font.

Excerpt:

“Do you accept now that you’re in Heaven?” Thomas asked.

Gabriel rose to his feet. “I…I…” As unbelievable as it seemed, nothing else explained this place, or Thomas. He sucked in a breath. “Wait a minute. If I’m in Heaven, does this mean I’m dead?”

            “What do you think?”

“I think it’s unfair! I’m only thirty-four. I have so much more I want to do, so much more I want to see.” Fear struck him at the implications of his death. “Who’s going to look after my mother? And my brother?”

He began to pace the room again, terror clutching at his heart. Though his mother’s bipolar disorder had been stable for several years, she was an artist, sometimes living in her own world. He looked after pragmatic things for her, like paying her bills and ordering groceries.

And his brother. Josh’s bipolar wasn’t nearly as well controlled. Who’d make sure he didn’t relapse? He had to get out of here. Once again, he banged his fists against the open door.

“Your family will be looked after, I promise you.”

“How? They have no one but me.”

“I promise you. They’ll be fine.”

For some reason, Gabriel believed him. Still, his life had been cut short. “It’s not fair!”

“Perhaps not, if you look at it from solely a mortal perspective.” He gestured to the meadow. “But don’t you feel it? The peace, the perfection?”

Gabriel closed his eyes. He did feel it. The meadow and the castle beyond beckoned to him. All his worries would be over, all his fears forgotten.

Yet, he didn’t feel dead, not that he knew what dead was supposed to feel like. He felt the same, like himself. Just…different.

            Dear God. I’m in Heaven.

Blurb:

When apprentice angel Gabriel takes Frank back in time for a second chance at love, they both learn lessons about trust.

Apprentice angel Gabriel Daniel’s first assignment in his quest to become a full-fledged angel is to give WW2 veteran, Frank Brennan, a second chance at love. With help from his mentor, senior angel Thomas, Gabriel takes Frank back to 1944 to Plymouth, England. There, Frank made his biggest mistake with love. He fell in love with Claire Cartwright, but when he found her kissing another man, he ended their relationship, despite Claire’s insistence that things weren’t as they appeared. This time around, Gabriel’s task is to convince Frank to trust in Claire’s love and fidelity, despite the evidence against her.

At the same time, Thomas takes Gabriel on a journey through his relationship with Sloane, the love of his mortal life. For the first time, Gabriel sees how his jealousy and distrust tainted their love.

Unless Gabriel persuades Frank to trust Claire, his goal of becoming a citizen of Heaven is doomed, along with his desire to watch over his mother and brother back on Earth. Frank has a complicated history that Gabriel must help him confront before either of them gets what they need.
