Happy Wednesday! I hope your New Year is going well. Today I'm offering another excerpt from my time-travel romance (with angels) called I'LL BE SEEING YOU, book 1 in the Twice in a Lifetime series. In this snippet, Gabriel wakes up after a car accident in a strange room, not knowing where he was or how he got there. This book, and the two other books in the series, will be releasing later this year. I hope you enjoy the excerpt!

Series Blurb:
After Gabriel Daniels’ car accident, he finds himself in a waiting room next door to Heaven. To earn his angel wings and be allowed the privilege of looking out for his loved ones back on Earth, Gabriel is tasked with giving three mortals their second chance at love. What Gabriel doesn’t count on is having to examine his own life during this process. Coming to terms with his mistakes, especially his mistakes in love, is the biggest test of his afterlife.
Blurb, I'LL BE SEEING YOU:
Apprentice angel Gabriel Daniel’s first assignment in his quest to become a full-fledged angel is to give WW2 veteran, Frank Brennan, a second chance at love. With help from his mentor, senior angel Thomas, Gabriel takes Frank back to 1944 to Plymouth, England. His first time in 1944, Frank fell in love with Claire Cartwright. Then he found her in a passionate embrace with another man and ended their relationship. He never loved anyone the same way again. This time around, Gabriel’s task is to convince Frank to trust in Claire’s love and fidelity, despite the evidence against her.
At the same time, Thomas takes Gabriel on a journey through his relationship with Sloane, the love of his mortal life. For the first time, Gabriel sees how his jealousy and distrust tainted their love.
Unless Gabriel persuades Frank to trust Claire, his goal of becoming a citizen of Heaven is doomed, along with his desire to watch over his mother and brother back on Earth. Frank has a complicated history that Gabriel must help him to confront before either of them gets what they need.

Excerpt:
When Gabriel woke, he was lying on his back on the floor of a white room. He slowly turned his head and took in his surroundings. White walls, white ceiling, white floor. The room was filled with light, even though there were no windows. The only exit was a closed door.
Where was he? He lifted his arm and saw his gold cufflinks at his wrist. He was wearing his tuxedo. When he touched his throat, his fingers skimmed over the silk of his bow tie, the ends hanging loose. The top two buttons of his shirt were undone. It was what he’d worn when he went to pick up Sloane for the gala. Memories of their argument, of her goodbye, flooded back and caused a painful ache in his chest.
The ache appeared to be emotional rather than physical. When he took stock of his body, touched his limbs to ensure they were still attached, there didn’t seem to be any damage or blood.
Gabriel carefully got to his feet and circled the strange room. It was about the size of a small bedroom, maybe ten feet by ten feet. A white wooden table and two matching chairs sat in the middle of the room. An old-fashioned television in a mahogany cabinet occupied one corner. A clock hung on the wall above the TV, and a desk calendar, the kind with pages that flipped over, sat on top of the TV. He noted that the date was December 15. The day of the gala.
The day Sloane said goodbye.
How did he get here? He had no conscious memory of traveling to this place. The last thing he remembered was being in his car. Then the crash. But he was uninjured and felt no pain. Was he in a hospital? If he was, it was the strangest hospital he’d ever seen.
A ripple of unease slid down his spine. He didn’t care what this place was, he was getting the hell out.

Oooh, love it. Can't wait to see what happens to Gabriel.
I'm with him. Check out the door!
You've really captured his perplexity, Jana.
I like the detail of the old TV.
