Hello! Today on the blog hop I've got an excerpt from I'LL BE SEEING YOU. In this scene, angels Gabriel and Thomas visit Frank in his nursing home room. To earn his way into Heaven, apprentice angel Gabriel has to convince Frank, a WW2 veteran, to go back in time to 1944 for a second chance at love. Gabriel has the ability to feel his client's emotions and feelings, along with any physical ailments.

Excerpt:
Gabriel squared his shoulders. He’d never backed down from a challenge in his life, and he wasn’t going to start now. Somehow, he’d convince Frank to come with him. He had to. Only by earning his wings and becoming a full-fledged angel would he be able to watch over his mother and brother and keep them from harm.
And, if he was an angel, maybe he could protect Sloane, too. He longed to see her again.
It’s time, Gabriel.
Yes. Once more he laid his hand on Frank’s shoulder. Using his training, he concentrated on connecting with Frank.
Waves of physical pain washed over Gabriel as he experienced Frank’s discomfort in every part of his body. The arthritis, the shortness of breath, the bed sores. Frank’s emotional pain pummeled him as well. He hated the nursing home with its rigid schedule and lack of privacy. Frank had always been a private person and as he’d grown older, he became even more solitary. He’d managed to live on his own, despite the cataracts that obscured his vision. But when he had the stroke, his autonomy had been taken away and he was deposited in this place. The indignity of it burned in his gut. What was especially frustrating for Frank was that his mind was still clear. He could understand what was being said and what was going on around him but had no way of communicating.
Gabriel now understood Frank’s anger. If his mortal body had failed him the way Frank’s had, he’d be angry, too. Maybe he was lucky to have died quickly.
