#MFRWhooks Blog Hop - An Excerpt from SEEING THINGS - #ParanormalRomanticSuspense - Almost Home

Happy Halloween! It's Wednesday and that means it's #MFRWhooks Blog Hop day! In this excerpt from SEEING THINGS, my paranormal romantic suspense novel, psychic Leah McKenna trusts her visions and they lead her to a cabin by the lake. She makes a startling discovery, but is it too late?:

Red roses and a pearl necklace on a dark background. Text reads "Book Hooks" and "Marketing for Romance Writers," evoking a romantic mood.

Excerpt:

Leah peered into the darkness. She made out the form of a man, slightly hunched over. Something white was pressed against his side. At first she couldn't tell what it was. Then the man turned and hurried onto the road. Beside him a small child struggled to keep up.

Leah's breath caught in her throat. Jeremy!

She started her car and headed towards them. Bill Strongfield turned and put an arm protectively around Jeremy when he heard her approach. Leah stopped beside them and quickly got out.

"Bill, it's me, Leah McKenna. Get in the car, quick."

Bill stared at her a moment. "How did you know where to find us?"

She opened the back door. "Just get in. Hurry!"

Bill shoved Jeremy into the back seat and fell in after him. Leah slammed the door shut.

Almost home. Almost home.

She was about to open her door when an explosion shattered the quiet. Pain radiated through her body, cutting her in half, buckling her knees. Another explosion sounded but this time she felt no pain.

No!  she screamed in silent frustration. She'd been so close to saving Jeremy. So close.

A pool of icy blackness fell around her. Cold silence enveloped her as she sank to the snow.

A woman stands by a snowy cabin at night, large eyes in the sky. Text: "Jana Richards," "Seeing Things," and a mystery quote.

Blurb:

When psychic Leah McKenna “sees” the abduction of a small boy, she knows she must help find him, no matter how much she longs for a normal life without visions. And no matter the danger to herself. David Logan, the boy’s uncle, doesn’t believe in psychic phenomenon. He believes Leah knows who kidnapped his nephew. He plans to stick close to her to discover the boy’s whereabouts. As they search for Jeremy, they uncover truths about themselves, the past, and the way they feel about each other. Can Leah convince David her visions, and her love for him, are real? And can they find Jeremy before time runs out for all of them?
