Welcome to the Blog Hop! Today I have another excerpt from I'LL BE SEEING YOU. In this scene, Gabriel and Sloane are at the art gallery opening that Gabriel arranged to display his mother's artwork. He hired Sloane, an event planner, to take care of the details. Gabriel opens up to Sloane about his mother, something he rarely does.
I'LL BE SEEING YOU is currently available for pre-order. It releases on March 1, 2026.

Excerpt:
She looked him straight in the eye. “Is there a reason Ellen shouldn’t be allowed a say about her own party?”
He looked over Sloane’s shoulder to the other side of the room where his mother was holding court with a small group of admirers. She gestured toward one of her paintings with her free hand, her favorite orange soft drink in the other. She looked happy, relaxed, normal.
But there was always a chance the normalcy would abruptly end.
“My mother has…issues.”
“I know. She told me she’s bipolar.”
Gabriel stared at her, shocked that his mother had revealed so much to Sloane. Maybe that meant she trusted her.
Perhaps he could do the same.
Gabriel pulled her close. “She responds well to lithium, but it’s a difficult drug. The first couple of years she was on it, she’d quit when she was feeling better, believing she didn’t need it anymore. But she eventually realized she needs to take the drug consistently to stay stable.”
“Ellen told me you’ve looked after her for years and were instrumental in getting her the help she needed.” Sloane squeezed his arm. “You’re a good son.”
Gabriel looked away. Sometimes he believed he didn’t do enough for his mother and at other times, he felt overburdened with her care. “I’m not so sure about that.”
“Ellen believes you’re a good son. She absolutely adores you, Gabriel.”
He stared into her lovely pansy eyes, so calm, so determined, so sure. For one crazy second, he wished he could lean on her, wished he could tap into the well of endless strength she seemed to possess. But then that would mean he needed her. He hadn’t let himself need anyone for a very long time.

Blurb:
When apprentice angel Gabriel takes Frank back in time for a second chance at love, they both learn lessons about trust.
Apprentice angel Gabriel Daniel’s first assignment in his quest to become a full-fledged angel is to give WW2 veteran, Frank Brennan, a second chance at love. With help from his mentor, senior angel Thomas, Gabriel takes Frank back to 1944 to Plymouth, England. There, Frank made his biggest mistake with love. He fell in love with Claire Cartwright, but when he found her kissing another man, he ended their relationship, despite Claire’s insistence that things weren’t as they appeared. This time around, Gabriel’s task is to convince Frank to trust in Claire’s love and fidelity, despite the evidence against her.
At the same time, Thomas takes Gabriel on a journey through his relationship with Sloane, the love of his mortal life. For the first time, Gabriel sees how his jealousy and distrust tainted their love.
Unless Gabriel persuades Frank to trust Claire, his goal of becoming a citizen of Heaven is doomed, along with his desire to watch over his mother and brother back on Earth. Frank has a complicated history that Gabriel must help him confront before either of them gets what they need.
