Hello! In today's excerpt from NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE, apprentice angel Gabriel has taken his client Joanna back in time to 1979. Joanna broke her engagement to Lucas in 1971 when she became paraplegic. This time she's going to represent Lucas in his wrongful dismissal suit, and help epair his damaged reputation, something she didn't do the first time she lived through 1979. They're looking for evidence in old files to help him, but it's a tedious job.

NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE is book 2 in the Twice in a Lifetime time travel romance series. The series is best enjoyed if read in order. All three books are available at Kindle Unlimited for free!

Excerpt:

They spent the rest of the day going through the boxes. By late Saturday afternoon, they had several pages of names and addresses. Lucas leafed through the pages of yellow paper. “It’s going to take forever to phone all these people.”

“Yeah, it’s going to take time,” Joanna agreed. “What will probably happen is that there will be some people we won’t be able to get hold of because they’ve moved or changed their number. Others won’t want to help us, and that’s okay. If we can get maybe ten to twelve clients from this list to sign written affidavits vouching for your work, I think that should make an impression.”

Lucas rose to his feet and stretched, placing his hands on his lower back and arching. “Oh man, I’ve been sitting too long.”

Joanna chuckled. “Yeah, me too.”

Lucas stared at her in horror. “Jo, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean—”

“Lucas, relax. I’m kidding. Just a little paraplegic humor.”

“Not funny, Jo-Jo.”

“Yeah, it kind of is.” She laughed, then rolled her wheelchair toward him. “Lucas, I’ve learned it’s better to laugh than cry. It’s how I keep going.”

Lucas regarded her for a long moment. Finally, he nodded. “Okay.”

Can accepting what can’t be changed give Gabriel’s new client a second chance at love?

Blurb:

Apprentice angel Gabriel Daniels faces his second task in becoming a full-fledged angel. His new client, Joanna Compton, broke up with her fiancé Lucas Kendall in 1971 after a car accident left her paraplegic. She refused to be a burden the way her father was. Eight years later, Joanna, by then a lawyer, declined to take Lucas’ wrongful dismissal case when he came to her for help.

Though Gabriel convinces Joanna to go back to 1979, Joanna insists she’s only doing so to give Lucas the justice she should have helped him attain the first time around. She doesn’t want a second chance at love. Gabriel is desperate to change her mind so he’ll be one step closer to becoming a citizen of Heaven.

Meanwhile, Gabriel’s mentor, senior angel Thomas, shows him how much his inability to accept his parents’ divorce and the bipolar disease that runs in his family has cost him.

Gabriel must help Joanna accept the things she cannot change. And Thomas must help Gabriel do the same or neither will truly be at peace.
