Happy Wednesday! Today I have an Excerpt from SEEING THINGS, a paranormal romantic suspense novel. Psychic Leah McKenna has "seen" the kidnappiing of David Logan's six-year-old nephew. In this scene, Leah has predicated David will get a phone call that will tell him something important about his nephew. And then the attraction that has simmered between them sparks to life. I hope you enjoy the excerpt!

Excerpt:

"What's this phone call about then?"

"I don't know. I only know it's very important." She looked down at their entwined hands. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything. Maybe it's nothing and I've only upset you."

He lifted her chin with two fingers, forcing her to look into his eyes. "No, you did the right thing. Look, I don't know what to make of this ESP stuff. All I know is that I want you to tell me whatever you feel or see, no matter how bad. The worst thing is not knowing."

He cupped her cheek with his hand. His calloused thumb gently massaged the sensitive skin under her eye. David's blue gaze pierced her with its intensity. "Promise me, Leah."

Did this mean he was beginning to really trust her?

"I promise," she whispered.

They stared into each other's eyes for several long moments.

David gently outlined the shape of her face with his fingertips and ran gentle hands through her unbraided hair. Her heart raced at his touch and her skin tingled as if a thousand tiny electrical currents ran through it. Heat pooled in her belly.

David lowered his face to hers. Leah strained towards him, impatient for his kiss. This time she didn't want to hold back. She pushed aside the lingering doubts and hurt, along with Rebecca's warning to remain focused on Jeremy. For a few moments, she concentrated on David. Only David.

She'd known his kiss would be special, but the first sweet contact when his lips touched hers caught her totally by surprise.

His lips were warm and soft, and he tasted sweet, like the sugar in his coffee. It was as if she'd never been kissed before, so unique was the experience. And yet at the same time she felt as if they'd done this a thousand times before. A quiet happiness filled her heart.

The ringing of David’s phone brought Leah crashing back to reality.
